Since each hole will hold a post of the kids outdoor playsets, you should map out where you want the holes to go before you start digging. The holes should be dug in pairs of two and the pair should be spaced six feet apart vertically. There should be 20 feet horizontally between the first two pairs of post holes and 15 feet horizontally between the middle two post holes and the two last post hole.

Carve notches at the top of each post with a circular saw. These slots will eventually hold the 4-inch by 6-inch post, which will end up in the top bar of the kids outdoor playsets. The edge should be 4 1/4 inches wide. For the best cut from the circular saw, cut at a 45 degree angle. Make sure that each notch is carved at the same height on each post, and no longer than six inches from the top. Measure and cut six bracing pieces from last 4-inch by 4-inch post. Touch two posts together with an angle and measure the width between the posts to five inches to nine inches below the top.
